‘Assault’, a horse from Texas, who hadn’t been favored to win any of the races he was in, odds of winning were 8-1 in the 1946 Kentucky Derby. Not only did he win the Kentucky Derby but he went on to take the Triple Crown that year. Take that you naysayers.
